Congratulations to the JH/HS CKH March/Courage Winners! Each month teachers/students nominate students and faculty that best demonstrate the CKH theme of the month. During the month of March, classes focused on Courage during their CKH Character Education lessons. Courage is the ability and strength to face something that may be difficult or challenging. Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather perseverance in the presence of fear. It is the willingness to stand up for what is right, or the willingness to try something new, even though it may be uncomfortable or uncertain. Congrats to Mrs. Doyen, Mrs. Alsbury, Kinlee, Kendree, Jenna, Maddox, Autumn, Summer, Dayne, Aaron, Carter, Deiken, Owen, Madalyn, Temperance, Mr. Moreland, Hannah, and Addelyn!

World Down Syndrome Day! We wore our mismatched socks at North Elementary today to raise awarenessess for our friends with Down syndrome 🩵💛💚💗
💛 3.21 WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY 💙
The date of March 21 was chosen to represent the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. Since chromosomes resemble socks, it has become a day for people to wear mismatched socks to raise awareness.
The mismatched socks represent the extra chromosome and the unique characteristics of individuals with Down syndrome #NOKOPROUD

At the Nokomis FFA Banquet, two supporters were awarded the Nokomis FFA Honorary Chapter Degree. This award is presented to those who have rendered outstanding service and who are helping to advance agricultural education and FFA.
Brian Chausse and Mrs. Rachelle McDowell both received this honor.
As principal of Nokomis High School, Mrs. McDowell has been a huge part of the success of Nokomis FFA. We are thankful for her leadership and wish her a happy retirement.
Brian Chausse has been a supporter of the FFA Chapter for many years by making the Ag plot available for hands-on learning opportunities and providing generous donations.
The Nokomis FFA Chapter would not be what it is today without their support. 🔵🟡 #NOKOPROUD
