On September 10th, FFA members enjoyed their time at the LLCC Ag Expo by participating in hands-on workshops on Ag careers, agronomy, soils, meat science, drones, and precision agriculture. FFA members also had a chance to interact with LLCC Ag students! Thank you LLCC Agriculture for hosting a great event!

The FFA Officers put on a great event for our first 8th Grade Activity of the school year! The officers made questions and made an FFA Family Fued game. The host of the game show also had to dress the part of hosting FFA Family Fued! Thank you to the FFA officers for making a fun event, and thank you to all the 8th graders that attended! 🔵🟡

Maddox DeWerff, our lone Nokomis Cross Country runner, represented the Redskins in Shelbyville! He had a strong finish with a time of 17:06, averaging a 5:42 pace, and placed 21st out of 129 runners! #NOKOPROUD

Mrs. DeWerff and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will host a FAFSA Informational Night on Thursday, September 17th at 6:30PM, for seniors and their parents/guardians. Come learn the ins and outs of the FAFSA and financial aid!

Tonight, our community came together to cheer on the Redskins—but we also came together for something much bigger than a football game: to stand together in the fight against cancer. Cancer has touched so many families in one way or another. Tonight was an opportunity to support those who are fighting, honor those who have won their battle, remember those we have lost, and remind one of our very own students and their family that they are surrounded by a community that cares. A special thank you to our National Honor Society for organizing shirt sales and selling memory ribbons and thunder sticks, with donations benefiting MCCA. Thank you also to our cheerleaders for hosting a cheer clinic as part of the fundraising efforts. We are especially grateful that tonight also gave us the opportunity to raise funds to support one of our own students. Thank you to everyone who purchased a shirt, made a donation, participated in the clinic, filled the stands, or simply showed their support. Tonight was a beautiful reminder that we are more than a school, we are a community. We're going to Dive Into Homecoming this year!! The HS dance will be held on Sat 9/26 with coronation at 7 pm. Doors to the public will open at 6:45. Congratulations to our court members!

📸 This Week’s Top Photographers! 📸 A little friendly competition is happening in our photography classes! Each student submits one of their best photos to the Google Classroom stream, and then the opposite class gets to be the judge. Students vote for their favorite, and the photo receiving the majority vote earns the title of Top Photographer of the Week! 🏆 We love seeing our students put their creativity, skills, and unique perspectives to work—and having their peers recognize their talent makes it even better! 👏 Congratulations to this week’s Top Photographers! Due to the heat, Friday night’s Nokomis Football Cancer Awareness Game will now kick off at 8:00 PM.
