On July 11th the Section 19 Livestock Fair was held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds. FFA members have worked hard to get their animals ready to show. Nokomis was well represented!

On July 13th Nokomis FFA held a tractor show during the Nokomis Homecoming celebration!
It was a fun event! Thank you to our sponsors, to Mr. Sullivan for helping organize the event, and everyone else who was involved! We are looking forward to hosting the tractor show again next year!

Thank you to the FFA members that put together a petting zoo on July 14th at the Nokomis Library! The kids enjoyed seeing the animals and interacting with FFA members! 🔵🟡
Earlier in July Nokomis FFA members had a great time at the three day SIU Ag Ed Leadership camp by building their leadership skills, connecting with other FFA members from across the state, and participating in fun camp activities! The FFA members are excited to attend again next year! Thank you SIUC Agricultural Leadership, Education, & FFA for hosting! 🔵🟡
Levi German, Nokomis FFA and Section 19 FFA President, has been very busy this summer. He has spent time at SIU, Washington DC, the State Fair, and attended other events with the rest of the state FFA officer team. The state FFA officer team has spent time leadership training and conducting legislative visits on behalf of Illinois FFA and the agricultural industry. 🔵🟡
The 2025-2026 FFA Officer Retreat is in the books! The Nokomis officer team and advisors spent two days bonding and building their leadership skills. The team enjoyed some mini golf, planned and cooked supper together, learned more about their officer roles, set goals for our chapter and themselves, discussed what holds us back and how to overcome in “The Burn Ceremony,” and reviewed events for the National Chapter Award. Stay tuned for officer spotlights in the next few weeks! 🔵🟡
Thank you to the FFA members that volunteered their time to help out at the food pantry on August 6th. It was a great example of how more hands make light work. They spent time unloading a trailer and organizing the food inside. Great work! 🔵🟡
Bond Knodle has been named a NATIONAL FINALIST in the area of Diversified Crop Production Placement! He has been ranked top 4 in the country! He will compete to be a national champion at National Convention in October. Congratulations to Bond on his hard work and dedication to his SAE project. Well deserved!🏆🔵🟡

Nokomis FFA members aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty! We had a hard working group spend the past three nights at the IL State Fair cleaning hog barns. Big thank you to the members and Amy Stolte for volunteering!

5:30pm- 6th grade orientation will be in the cafeteria
6:00pm- 7th-8th graders can come into NJHS and put their school items in their lockers, run through their schedules and meet teachers

6:30pm- 10th-12th graders can come into NHS and put their school items in their lockers, familiarize themselves with their schedule, and meet teachers
