Nokomis High School Announcements

Tuesday, October 14th,  2025


Meetings:  

  • Juniors:  If you would like to be a part of the prom committee this year, there will be a meeting on Wednesday October 15th during study hall in Mrs Gillespie's room.  Anyone can be a part of this, as we need lots of help!  Bring ideas for themes, etc. to that meeting!!

  • The 1st Rice Krispie Pumpkin Go Ahead.....Bake My Day will be on Thursday Oct 16th in Ms. Williams' room during study hall. This workshop is full.

  • Fine Arts will have its October meeting on Oct 16 in the Band room during HS lunch 12:05-12:35. (Bring your lunch with you!)

  • The St. Louis Church youth group, SLYME, will be meeting during the month of October on the 19th at 5 pm. Bring a friend and some snacks to share at the event. The group will meet at Carl and Jayne Fesser's house, and there will be a fire, fall games, food, and more.

  • NHS will have a meeting on Monday October 27th.  Reminder that 30 min of tutoring is due on Friday October 17th!

  • Full student council meeting on Wednesday October 22nd.

  • Student Council November committee meeting on Wednesday October 29th.

  • There will be an FFA meeting on Monday, October 27th at 6pm in Mrs. Carlock's room. There will be pumpkin carving and snacks!

Important Info:

  • The Early Bird Sign Up Sheet for the FCCLA Bus Trip to St. Louis in May is posted in Ms. Williams room.  Please get your name on the list.

  • FFA apparel is ready to order! We are offering t-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, and hoodies. Pick up a paper order form from an advisor or order through the Google form link on the Nokomis FFA Facebook page or the FFA Google Classroom. Orders and payment must be turned in by the end of the day on Tuesday, October 28th.

  • If you are interested in helping with the FFA petting zoo on October 24th, please let Mr. Fesser or Mrs. Carlock know

  • If you removed the 2002 yearbook from the High School Library shelves, please return it to Mrs. Goodwin ASAP as yearbooks should not be checked out. 

  • The Volleyball team will be hosting the Penny War next week to raise funds for AVM Awareness & Ayden's Army.  Start collecting your loose change!

Reminders:

  • Students should now be parking in their assigned spots with tag showing, if you’re still needing a parking spot, please come to the office and fill out a paper. Parking is $10

Students should be checking their email daily.

  • Volleyball will travel to Edinburg tonight, JV begins at 6

Cafeteria:


Lunch today: Giant Birria Taco or Turkey and Cheese Sandwich

Breakfast Tomorrow:  Scrambled Eggs with Cinnamon Toast or Cereal


Lunch Tomorrow: Chicken Patty with Hot Roll or Italian Sub

(2nd chance breakfast is available to all students. If you’ve not had your free breakfast for the day this will be free, otherwise you pay the regular breakfast price.)


If you would like a salad for lunch, please let the kitchen know by the day before or 9am the day of.

Students will not be allowed in the kitchen or use the kitchen microwave.

Dates to remember:

October 22nd & 23rd- 2:30 dismissal (parent teacher conferences)

October 24th -No school

October 31st- 2:15 dismissal

Fees should be paid in the office ASAP. If they are not paid please get them in. 

An updated sports physical AND athletic fees must be on file and paid before any athletes can participate in games.
