The second graders are completing a winter STEM activity using items that they were given--a piece of cardstock, a piece of tape, 30 cubes, a bottle cap, a penny passenger, and a yardstick. They were asked to make a slope for their sled and measure how far it went. The goal was to see whose sled could go the farthest. As a group discussed slope, friction, inclined planes, distance, speed, and sledding experiences they have had.

7th grade students participated in a Rationing activity as they learned about and read the play "The Diary of Anne Frank." Students had to limit their use of cell phones, music, electronics and desserts for four days. #NOKOPROUD
NHS Parents - Informational letters and permission slips were recently mailed home to in-person students regarding the universal screening of your child. Nokomis CUSD #22 is committed to working with you, not only in the academic education of your child, but also to ensure students reach their full potential outside of the classroom. Please remember to return your child's permission slip by Wed. Feb, 3rd by having your child return them to school, dropping them off in the Unit Office, or emailing to lisadewerff@nokomis.k12.il.us. If you have a high school student who is currently remote and would like them to be screened, please contact Mrs. DeWerff to set up a time.
