NHS Parents - Informational letters and permission slips were recently mailed home to in-person students regarding the universal screening of your child. Nokomis CUSD #22 is committed to working with you, not only in the academic education of your child, but also to ensure students reach their full potential outside of the classroom. Please remember to return your child's permission slip by Wed. Feb, 3rd by having your child return them to school, dropping them off in the Unit Office, or emailing to lisadewerff@nokomis.k12.il.us. If you have a high school student who is currently remote and would like them to be screened, please contact Mrs. DeWerff to set up a time. Sphero Bolt is a STEM robot that teaches programming with block-based and textual JavaScript coding. Students in Mr. Fritts’ class had fun bringing their robots to life with code and learning to program activities using Bolt's gyroscope and accelerometer sensors, while mapping their sensor data. They worked with fundamental coding concepts (debugging & refactoring code, variables, conditionals, loops, and comparators) to control the orientation, velocity, location, distance, speed, and heading of their robot while manipulating its lights, sounds, and LCD display. #NOKOPROUD
